Veteran actor Lee Weaver<\/strong>, known for his work in the 1960s and 1970s, died on September 22 at age 95<\/strong> in his Los Angeles home, according to Forbes<\/em>. His family said he \u201cwove joy, depth, and representation into every role he played.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born April 10, 1930, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida<\/strong>, Weaver served four years in the U.S. Army<\/strong> before working as a linotype engineer<\/strong> for The New York Times<\/em> and a promoter<\/strong> at New York\u2019s Birdland jazz club. He began acting on stage in the 1950s and made his TV debut in Sheena, Queen of the Jungle<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Weaver gained recognition through roles in Good Morning World<\/em>, I Spy<\/em>, The Wild Wild West<\/em>, Mannix<\/em>, Julia<\/em>, and The Bill Cosby Show<\/em>, later guest-starring in Kojak<\/em>, The Jeffersons<\/em>, Good Times<\/em>, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air<\/em>.<\/p>\n

His film and voice credits include How Stella Got Her Groove Back<\/em> (1998), O Brother, Where Art Thou?<\/em> (2000), Donnie Darko<\/em> (2001), and The 40-Year-Old Virgin<\/em> (2005). He also appeared in Grace and Frankie<\/em> on Netflix.<\/p>\n
