Fox continues his long battle with Parkinson\u2019s but remains optimistic and active. Over the weekend, the <em data-start=\"281\" data-end=\"301\">Back to the Future<\/em> star cheered on his youngest daughter, 24-year-old Esm\u00e9, as she ran the New York Marathon, sharing a rare photo of their meeting along the route.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"451\" data-end=\"781\">Diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s at 29, Fox went public in 1998 and later founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson\u2019s Research. Despite daily challenges, he told <em data-start=\"617\" data-end=\"625\">People<\/em> that he stays positive: \u201cI wake up and get the message of what the day is gonna be like, and I try to adjust to it\u2026 You take the good, and you seize it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"1037\">Though he briefly retired from acting in 2020, Fox returned to release his book <em data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"875\">Future Boy<\/em> and appear on <em data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"901\">Shrinking<\/em>. Married to actress Tracy Pollan, he shares four children, including Esm\u00e9, whom he\u2019s described as most like him\u2014curious and creative.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1039\" data-end=\"1217\">Fox rarely shares family photos, but to mark Esm\u00e9\u2019s marathon run and birthday, he wrote on Instagram: \u201cEsme\u2026 then and now\u2014you did it! You are amazing. Your dood is very proud.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1219\" data-end=\"1361\">Now 62, Fox remains realistic yet fearless about the future, telling <em data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1304\">Town &amp; Country<\/em>: \u201cOne day I\u2019ll run out of gas\u2026 but I don\u2019t fear that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael J.
