With 25 years in customer service, she landed a job at a local IHOP but still struggled to furnish her new apartment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"768\">Then, just before the New Year, a celebrity couple sat in her section: singer Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, Jenny McCarthy. Bethany, a longtime fan, was thrilled to serve them \u2014 unaware her life was about to change.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1037\">After their $35.27 meal, Donnie left a handwritten note saying, \u201cThanks, Bethany. Happy New Year. 2020 Tip Challenge,\u201d and asked her not to open the receipt until they\u2019d gone.
