The former <em data-start=\"229\" data-end=\"243\">Tonight Show<\/em> host was granted conservatorship and has devoted himself to her care.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"317\" data-end=\"522\">Married since 1980, Jay and Mavis first met at the Comedy Store in the 1970s. Despite once believing she\u2019d never marry, Mavis said meeting Jay gave her \u201ca calm sense of having arrived at my destination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"809\">Now 75, Leno says caring for Mavis is not a burden but a privilege. Speaking at the 34th annual Love Ride charity event, he shared, \u201cMy wife is fighting dementia, but it\u2019s not cancer or a tumor. I enjoy taking care of her. It\u2019s not work\u2014I enjoy her company, and we have fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"920\">He added, \u201cIt\u2019s tricky, but I\u2019m very lucky.
