Air passengers who depart Singapore will soon be liable to pay a green fuel levy that could cost nearly $32 from next year. The news comes as the city-state locks in a major step in its effort to reduce the aviation industry\u2019s emissions.<\/p>\n

Travellers who opt to fly in economy and premium economy class, as well as those on short-haul flights, would be asked to pay a smaller fee, but it would be liable to all passengers, local media outlets have confirmed.<\/p>\n

Those passengers will pay an additional $1 for trips to Southeast Asia and $10.40 for flights to America, as confirmed by the Civil Authority of Singapore on Monday. It also shared how business and first-class travellers will pay nearly four times more than usual.<\/p>\n
