Despite frantic efforts, he couldn\u2019t be revived. The coroner confirmed his death was due to asphyxia caused by inhaling helium, which displaced the oxygen he needed to breathe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"824\">\u201cIt started as a celebration,\u201d said Coroner Andre Rebello. \u201cHe was a little boy playing in his room, and tragically it had fatal consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"1088\">Joshua\u2019s mother, Carly, now campaigns for a ban on helium balloons. \u201cPlease, don\u2019t buy your children helium balloons,\u201d she urged on Facebook. \u201cEvery day I hate myself for buying the balloon that took our boy.
