She was conducting a pest-control flight when the accident occurred.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"766\">Her co-host and longtime friend <strong data-start=\"613\" data-end=\"634\">Aldi van der Walt<\/strong> described her as \u201ca big heart, gentle soul, and the glue that kept people together,\u201d adding that her death was \u201ca massive shock.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"957\">VIA TV paid tribute on Facebook: \u201cRest in peace, Mynie Steffens. You were adventurous until the end. With <em data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"890\">Play With Fire<\/em>, you showed us how to approach life with curiosity and bravery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1139\">Beyond television, Steffens authored the 2021 cookbook <em data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1037\">Mynie Plays with Fire<\/em>, featuring South African barbecue recipes.
