In that op-ed, Clooney argued that Biden, despite his achievements, could not \u201cwin the fight against time.\u201d His comments drew backlash, including from Hunter Biden, who accused Clooney of exaggerating Biden\u2019s decline.<\/p>\n
Less than two weeks after the op-ed, Biden dropped out and Harris became the nominee, eventually losing to Trump. Clooney said Harris faced an unfair challenge, having to \u201crun against her own record,\u201d and called her selection a mistake.<\/p>\n
Clooney also said the Biden he saw at a fundraiser was not the Biden of 2010 or even 2020, echoing concerns raised after Biden\u2019s poor debate performance.<\/p>\n
