The second guardsman, <strong data-start=\"225\" data-end=\"245\">Andrew Wolfe, 24<\/strong>, remains hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"451\">Beckstrom and Wolfe were shot by alleged gunman <strong data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"346\">Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29<\/strong>, an Afghan national. Officials say both soldiers had been sworn in less than 24 hours before the attack.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"591\">Trump called Beckstrom a \u201cmagnificent young person\u201d who was \u201csavagely attacked.\u201d Her death was later confirmed by the D.C. National Guard.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"781\">FBI Director Kash Patel and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth paid tribute, calling her a patriot and hero.
