If you grew up in the \u201980s, you remember Chunk \u2014 the Hawaiian shirt, the Truffle Shuffle, and the chaos he brought to The Goonies<\/em>. But the story of the boy behind the character, Jeff Cohen, is one of Hollywood\u2019s most surprising twists.<\/p>\n

Jeff\u2019s rise to fame happened fast. Born in Los Angeles in 1974, he took his mother\u2019s maiden name \u201cCohen\u201d and soon appeared on TV before landing his iconic role as Chunk in 1985. He even filmed parts of The Goonies<\/em> while secretly covered in chickenpox, determined not to lose the role that made him a fan favorite.<\/p>\n

But after the movie\u2019s success, everything changed. Puberty hit, and the roles stopped coming. As Jeff put it:
\u201cI didn\u2019t give up acting \u2014 acting gave me up.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

He left Hollywood, focused on education, and \u2014 thanks to director Richard Donner\u2019s support \u2014 earned business and law degrees. Jeff reinvented himself as an entertainment lawyer and co-founded his own firm, becoming one of the top dealmakers in the business.<\/p>\n

In a poetic moment, he even negotiated the Oscar-winning role for his former co-star, Ke Huy Quan, who thanked him as his \u201cGoonies brother for life.\u201d<\/p>\n
