Cynthia Erivo\u2019s controverisal casting as Jesus Christ in the movie Jesus Christ Superstar has really raised eyebrows with the masses.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s safe to say that the performance has gotten serious backlash across the board, especially after a glimpse of her footage at the Hollywood Bowl went viral this past weekend.<\/p>\n

Erivo, who showed up to perform on stage in a torn white colored number with claw-like acrylic nails, was witnessed singing opposite Adam Lambert in what the site called out as Return to the Rock Roots of the iconic musical.<\/p>\n

But so many people, the production did not feel like it was a true revival. Others likened it to a more tiring and elitist provocation from the Hollywood industry.<\/p>\n
