Deyvion was just a baby when a fire tore through his apartment, leaving him with severe burns. Firefighters saved him, but he spent years recovering in a special burns unit \u2014 and doing it all without a family by his side.<\/p>\n
At age 5, everything changed. Beth Plunkett, a single mother of two, became his foster mom.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought he was a beautiful little boy, and I fell in love with him very quickly,\u201d she said. After 2,545 days without a family, Beth officially adopted Deyvion.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want him to be happy and always feel loved,\u201d Beth added. \u201cGod has an amazing plan for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
The firefighters who rescued him never forgot that night. On his adoption day, they surprised him with a custom jacket and hat, then gave him and Beth a ride in their fire truck to court.<\/p>\n
