Bears are highly intelligent animals, yet thousands are still kept in cruel captivity. One of them was Caesar, a bear who spent years suffering on a bile farm in China.<\/p>\n
Caesar was confined to a tiny space, forced to wear a metal \u201ctorture vest,\u201d and had bile continuously drained from her gallbladder for use in traditional medicine. She lived with open wounds and constant pain, with no freedom to move.<\/p>\n
In 2004, Animals Asia rescued Caesar, freeing her from the vest and providing urgent medical care. Despite severe trauma, she slowly healed and transformed into a strong, majestic bear, spending her days swimming, sunbathing, and digging at the sanctuary.<\/p>\n
Sadly, the damage from years of abuse caught up with her. Caesar later developed an aggressive tumor linked to her past suffering and eventually passed away.<\/p>\n
Her story is a powerful reminder that thousands of bears still endure this cruelty, and that the fight to end bile farming is far from over.<\/p>\n
