Prince Harry and Meghan Markle\u2019s charitable organization, Archewell Foundation, has been dramatically downsized following a sharp drop in donations and rising operating costs. The foundation has laid off three of its five employees, leaving just two key staff members as it struggles financially.<\/p>\n

According to reports, expenses have far exceeded income, with Archewell spending about $5.1 million in 2024 while raising only $2.1 million. Facing mounting losses, the Sussexes reportedly considered closing the foundation or transferring it to a fiscal sponsor to reduce costs.<\/p>\n

Last week, the couple announced the foundation\u2019s rebrand to Archewell Philanthropies<\/strong>, stating the move would reduce administrative burdens while keeping its mission focused on community support and mental health.<\/p>\n

Amid the restructuring, longtime executive director James Holt<\/strong> announced his departure after eight years with the Sussexes. While stepping down from daily leadership, Holt will continue as a senior advisor as he relocates with his family back to the UK. Vice President of Philanthropy Shauna Nep<\/strong> has also shifted to an advisory role.<\/p>\n

The shake-up extends beyond Archewell, with multiple senior staff departures across the Sussexes\u2019 communications and production teams.
