Len Garry<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, a former bandmate of Paul McCartney<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and John Lennon<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in The Quarrymen<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, has died at 84, his family confirmed.<\/p>\n

Garry played with his school friends in the 1950s group, which later evolved into The Beatles<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in 1960. Diagnosed with dementia in 2024, he was recently hospitalized with a chest infection but returned home, where he died surrounded by family.<\/p>\n

He attended the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, met McCartney there, and performed with The Quarrymen at school events and their first show at Cavern Club<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. In 1997, he reunited with surviving Quarrymen members for the band\u2019s 40th anniversary, touring the UK and releasing four albums.<\/p>\n

It is unclear whether Garry will be featured in the upcoming Beatles biopic, The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, set for release in 2028.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
