Bobby Sherman, the 1960s teen idol and pop star, has died at his Encino, Los Angeles home on Tuesday after a battle with stage 4 cancer, TMZ confirmed. His wife, Brigitte Poublon Sherman, and longtime friend John Stamos shared heartfelt tributes online. Brigitte had revealed his diagnosis on Facebook in March.<\/p>\n
Born Robert Cabot Sherman Jr. on July 22, 1943, in Santa Monica, California, Sherman rose to fame as a teen idol in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He began as the house singer on ABC\u2019s Shindig!<\/em> (1964\u20131966) and scored hits including \u201cLittle Woman,\u201d \u201cJulie, Do Ya Love Me,\u201d \u201cEasy Come, Easy Go,\u201d and \u201cLa La La (If I Had You),\u201d releasing ten albums and over 100 songs.<\/p>\n As an actor, he was best known as Jeremy Bolt in Here Come the Brides<\/em> (1968\u20131970) and appeared in The Monkees<\/em>, The Partridge Family<\/em>, and Getting Together<\/em>. His final onscreen appearance was a 1997 cameo on Frasier<\/em>.<\/p>\n In the mid-1970s, Sherman turned to public service, training as an EMT, serving as a medical training officer at the LAPD, and later as a reserve officer and deputy sheriff until retiring in 2010. He also co-founded the Brigitte & Bobby Sherman Children\u2019s Foundation, supporting education and music programs for children in Ghana.<\/p>\n Bobby Sherman is survived by his sons Tyler and Christopher and six grandchildren.<\/p>\n
