The Oscars\u2019 In Memoriam<\/em> segment honors stars who passed away, a tradition dating back to 1978 and made regular in 1994.<\/p>\n

At the 2026 ceremony, several legends like Diane Keaton<\/span><\/span>, Robert Redford<\/span><\/span>, Robert Duvall<\/span><\/span>, and Diana Ladd<\/span><\/span> were honored, with Barbra Streisand<\/span><\/span> performing a tribute.<\/p>\n

However, fans noticed several omissions, including James Van Der Beek<\/span><\/span>, Eric Dane<\/span><\/span>, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner<\/span><\/span>\u2014possibly because they were more known for television.<\/p>\n

Other notable names left out included Brigitte Bardot<\/span><\/span>. Meanwhile, Gene Hackman<\/span><\/span> was not included because he had already been honored the previous year.<\/p>\n
