When I married David, I knew I wasn\u2019t just gaining a husband\u2014I was stepping into a life already shaped by his past. His son, Josh, was sixteen when he moved in, and from day one, he made it clear I didn\u2019t belong in his version of family. Any attempt I made to connect\u2014watching a movie, cooking a familiar meal, helping with homework\u2014was met with resistance.<\/p>\n
