A nationwide food safety alert has been issued after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration<\/span><\/span> expanded a major recall of frozen products sold at Trader Joe\u2019s<\/span><\/span> due to possible glass contamination.<\/p>\n

Ajinomoto Foods North America<\/span><\/span> has recalled nearly 9.9 million pounds of Vegetable Fried Rice, after reports it may contain glass fragments large enough to pose serious health risks.<\/p>\n

The affected one-pound bags were sold in 43 states, with best-by dates ranging from February 2026 to November 2026\u2014meaning many could still be in home freezers.<\/p>\n

The recall, first issued in February and expanded in March, now includes additional products like Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Shu Mai, with dates extending into 2027.<\/p>\n

Investigators traced the issue to contaminated carrots used as an ingredient. In total, nearly 37 million pounds of ready-to-eat foods across 16 brands\u2014including Kroger<\/span><\/span> and Tai Pei<\/span><\/span>\u2014have been affected.<\/p>\n

No injuries have been reported so far, but officials warn consumers not to eat the products. Instead, they should discard them or return them for a refund and contact a healthcare provider if concerned.<\/p>\n

Authorities urge people to check their freezers and stay updated as the recall continues to expand.<\/p>\n
