A tragic school bus crash on Highway 70 in Carroll County, Tennessee, turned a middle school field trip into a nightmare on Friday, March 27. Students from Kenwood Middle School were heading to Jackson for the Toyota Hub City Grand Prix Greenpower USA Race when the bus collided with a dump truck and a Chevrolet Trailblazer near Cedar Grove.<\/p>\n
Some parents, following behind, witnessed the crash firsthand. Xaviel and Rosalee Lugo, whose daughter was on the bus, rushed to help students to safety. Seven students were airlifted to hospitals, four in stable condition, while 19 others were evaluated and released. Sadly, two eighth-grade girls, Zoe and Arianna, did not survive.<\/p>\n
The community rallied in mourning, holding a vigil at Kenwood Middle School.
