During the show, the pair embraced on camera, prompting Chris Martin to joke they might be having an \u201caffair.\u201d The clip led to intense public scrutiny, criticism, and death threats, affecting Cabot\u2019s personal life and career.<\/p>\n
At the time, Cabot was head of HR at Astronomer, where Byron was CEO. Both later stepped away from their roles. Although both were married, Cabot was divorcing and believed Byron was in a similar situation.<\/p>\n
In a new interview on The Oprah Podcast, Cabot said she \u201cended communication\u201d with Byron last fall, citing a \u201cbig miss on honesty and integrity\u201d and saying he wasn\u2019t who he claimed to be. She declined to elaborate further, noting the need to protect privacy.<\/p>\n
Cabot revealed that in the weeks after the concert, she and Byron kept in touch mainly for \u201ccrisis management advice,\u201d but by September they agreed to stop communicating.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the fallout, Cabot said she felt treated far more harshly than Byron, with her appearance and every detail scrutinized. \u201cI own the poor decision I made in that moment, and I\u2019ve paid an unimaginable price for that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
