Dee Freeman, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and actress known for Sistas<\/em> and The Young and the Restless<\/em>, has died at 66 after battling stage 4 lung cancer. She passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, her family confirmed.<\/p>\n

Born in Louisiana in 1959, Freeman served six years in the Marines before building a career in acting, appearing in over 80 stage productions and numerous TV shows, including Seinfeld<\/em>, ER<\/em>, The X-Files<\/em>, Dexter<\/em>, and NCIS: Los Angeles<\/em>. She recently gained recognition for her role on Sistas<\/em> and had been invited back for another season.<\/p>\n

Even during her illness, she continued working, adapting her stage show Poison Gun<\/em> into a novel.<\/p>\n

Freeman was remembered for her strength, grace, and authenticity. She is survived by her two children, Amber and Shane, whom she called her greatest accomplishment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
