House Democrats, led by Rep. Jamie Raskin, have introduced a bill to create an independent bipartisan commission to evaluate President Donald Trump\u2019s fitness for office under the 25th Amendment.<\/p>\n

The proposed 17-member panel would assess whether a president is mentally or physically capable of performing their duties and could recommend action if concerns arise. The move comes amid growing criticism from Democrats over Trump\u2019s behavior, rhetoric, and controversial statements, including remarks on Iran and a social media post portraying himself in a religious context.<\/p>\n

Nearly 100 Democrats have called for his removal, arguing it\u2019s a matter of national security. However, the proposal faces major obstacles. Any use of the 25th Amendment would still require approval from the vice president and a majority of the cabinet, making removal unlikely.<\/p>\n
