Left without a phone or any way to contact someone for help, I was forced to rely on the kindness of strangers to get back to the city. Once I returned home, I decided that I needed to regain control and take a stand for myself.<\/p>\n

As the legal owner of my son\u2019s family home\u2014a decision made years ago to protect their financial interests\u2014I realized I had the power to change everything. After consulting with a lawyer, I decided to sell the house, an action that would surely send a message to my son\u2019s family about the consequences of their actions. The decision to sell wasn\u2019t made out of spite; it was a response to a deep-seated hurt and the realization that sometimes, drastic actions are necessary to reclaim one\u2019s dignity.<\/p>\n
