She was a bright, cheerful child who appeared on American TV by age six, but behind the scenes her childhood was deeply difficult.<\/p>\n

Born in 1992 in California, Jennette McCurdy grew up in a strict, financially struggling home, raised in isolation and homeschooled. Her mother, dealing with illness and mental health issues, became controlling and pushed Jennette into acting to support the family. She even managed nearly every part of her life, contributing to emotional pressure and unhealthy boundaries.<\/p>\n

Jennette began acting at a young age, but by her teens she was already the family\u2019s main source of income. While she found success in shows like iCarly<\/em>, her real life was marked by anxiety, control, and lack of privacy.<\/p>\n
