A Texas restaurateur allegedly killed his wife, their two young children, and then himself in what police believe was a murder-suicide at their Houston home.<\/p>\n

Matthew Mitchell, 52, his wife Thy Mitchell, 39, and their 8-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son were found dead from gunshot wounds on Monday evening after a welfare check was requested when the family couldn\u2019t be reached.<\/p>\n

Police said evidence at the scene indicated Matthew shot the three victims before turning the gun on himself.<\/p>\n

The Mitchells were well known in Houston\u2019s food scene as co-owners of the popular restaurants Travelers Table<\/em> and Traveler\u2019s Cart<\/em>, featured on shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives<\/em>. Their business and personal partnership helped build their national reputation.<\/p>\n

Matthew had previously worked in journalism and business before entering the restaurant industry, while Thy had a background in hospitality and HR leadership roles.<\/p>\n
