Former New York Jets<\/span><\/span> quarterback Browning Nagle<\/span><\/span> has died at age 57 after battling colon cancer, according to the New York Post.<\/p>\n

Nagle, born in 1968 in Indiana, starred at the University of Louisville<\/span><\/span> and earned MVP honors in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl<\/span><\/span> after defeating Alabama.<\/p>\n

He was selected 34th overall in the 1991 NFL Draft by the New York Jets<\/span><\/span>, one pick after Brett Favre<\/span><\/span>. Nagle played three seasons with the Jets and later had stints with the Indianapolis Colts<\/span><\/span> and Atlanta Falcons<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Over his NFL career, he started 14 games, throwing eight touchdowns and 20 interceptions. After retiring from football, he stayed mostly out of the public eye.<\/p>\n
