Just after midnight, I called my mother while holding my medical school acceptance letter and begging for help because I still couldn\u2019t afford tuition or housing. Her words broke me, but that night I decided I would become a doctor without anyone\u2019s support.<\/p>\n

I worked exhausting double shifts, cleaned offices overnight, survived on little sleep, and pushed through years of stress, debt, and failure. Whenever I wanted to quit, I remembered my mother telling me my dream was impossible, and that pain kept me going.<\/p>\n
