Donald Gibb<\/span><\/span>, best known for playing \u201cOgre\u201d in the cult comedy Revenge of the Nerds<\/span><\/span>, has died at 71. According to TMZ, Gibb passed away Tuesday evening at his home in Texas following ongoing health complications, surrounded by family.<\/p>\n

His son, Travis, said Donald deeply loved his family, friends, fans, and faith, asking for prayers and privacy during this difficult time.<\/p>\n

Born in New York City in 1954, Gibb first pursued football and briefly played with the San Diego Chargers<\/span><\/span> before an injury led him to acting. He gained recognition in Any Which Way You Can<\/span><\/span> before becoming famous as the tough but memorable \u201cOgre\u201d in Revenge of the Nerds and its sequels.<\/p>\n

Standing 6-foot-4, Gibb became known for his intimidating presence and unique voice, especially after starring alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme<\/span><\/span> in Bloodsport<\/span><\/span> as Ray Jackson.<\/p>\n

He also appeared in popular TV shows including The X-Files<\/span><\/span>, Cheers<\/span><\/span>, and The A-Team<\/span><\/span>. His final credited role was in the boxing thriller Hands.<\/p>\n
