Melissa Blake<\/span><\/span>, a writer with Freeman-Sheldon syndrome<\/span><\/span>, faced cruel online bullying after a photo of her was shared following a 2019 article she wrote for CNN<\/a>. Trolls mocked her appearance and said she was \u201ctoo ugly\u201d to post selfies online.<\/p>\n

Instead of hiding, Melissa responded with confidence. She posted three selfies on Twitter and wrote that if people thought she should be banned from sharing photos, she would continue posting anyway. She then shared a selfie every day for a year.<\/p>\n

Her powerful response gained massive support online, growing her Instagram following from 7,500 to over 100,000. Through her posts, Melissa also spoke openly about disability awareness and challenged harmful stereotypes, showing that disabled people live full, meaningful lives.<\/p>\n
