A 12-year-old student at Reseda High School<\/span><\/span> has died days after her family says she was struck in the head with a metal water bottle during a bullying incident on campus.<\/p>\n

According to her mother, Elma Chuquipa, Khimberly was hit in the head by another student in a school hallway about 10 days before her death. She was taken to the hospital, treated, and sent home, but later collapsed. Doctors reportedly found she had suffered a brain hemorrhage, and she later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Police Department<\/span><\/span> is investigating the case as a homicide. Authorities have not yet released details about possible charges.<\/p>\n

Following her death, classmates, family, and community members gathered outside the school for a vigil, leaving flowers and candles while calling for accountability. A GoFundMe created to help with funeral and medical expenses describes Khimberly as a joyful girl who loved music, volleyball, her dogs, and spending time with family.<\/p>\n
