David Caruso<\/span><\/span> was once one of television\u2019s biggest stars, especially during the 1990s and early 2000s. Best known for his roles in NYPD Blue<\/span><\/span> and CSI: Miami<\/span><\/span>, the now 68-year-old actor looks very different from how fans remember him.<\/p>\n

Born in Queens, New York, Caruso started with small roles in films like First Blood<\/span><\/span> and An Officer and a Gentleman<\/span><\/span> before landing his breakout role as Detective John Kelly in NYPD Blue in 1993. Although he became a huge TV star, he left the show after one season amid reported disputes over salary and creative control.<\/p>\n

After unsuccessful movie attempts, Caruso made a major comeback in 2002 as Horatio Caine in CSI: Miami, a role that turned him into a television icon for ten seasons.
