New details have emerged about the death of Anne Burrell<\/span><\/span>, who died in June 2025 at age 55.<\/p>\n

According to police reports obtained by PEOPLE, investigators found a suicide note and journal entries in the bedroom of her Brooklyn home after her husband, Stuart Claxton<\/span><\/span>, discovered her unresponsive on the bathroom floor surrounded by pills. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene on June 17, 2025.<\/p>\n

The New York City medical examiner later ruled her death a suicide caused by acute intoxication involving antihistamines, alcohol, and amphetamine.<\/p>\n

Burrell was best known as the longtime host of Worst Cooks in America<\/span><\/span> and for shows like Secrets of a Restaurant Chef<\/span><\/span>. Known for her spiky platinum hair and energetic personality, she became one of Food Network\u2019s most recognizable chefs and also authored bestselling cookbooks including Cook Like a Rock Star<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Born in New York in 1969, Burrell trained at the Culinary Institute of America and built a successful career in restaurants, television, and teaching home cooks. She is survived by her husband, family members, and step-son Javier.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
