The 52-year-old revealed that he kept his first testicular cancer diagnosis in 2006 a secret while filming, trying to stay strong but eventually breaking down under the emotional toll.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"771\">\u201cI relied on my acting training and tried to be courageous, like Maximus from <em data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"561\">Gladiator<\/em>,\u201d he said on <em data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"591\">Let\u2019s Be Clear<\/em>, a podcast by the late Shannen Doherty. But when his treatment schedule clashed with filming, the weight became too much. \u201cI just broke down. I realized I couldn\u2019t do this alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"773\" data-end=\"909\">Once he opened up, his <em data-start=\"796\" data-end=\"813\">All My Children<\/em> cast rallied around him. \u201cThey showed up, offered help, and made me feel supported,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"1131\">His battle didn\u2019t end there\u2014he faced cancer again the following year and was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. In January 2025, he underwent surgery and by February announced he was cancer-free for the third time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1133\" data-end=\"1271\">\u201cIt&#8217;s still scary,\u201d he admitted. \u201cBut I\u2019ve learned it takes real courage to ask for help.
