A grieving grandmother shared a final photo of her 3-year-old granddaughter, Scarlett Jensen, taken just moments before the child was tragically killed in a hit-and-run in Oldtown, Idaho, on October 7, 2022.<\/p>\n
Scarlett had been out for ice cream with her 2-year-old brother Henry and their grandmother while their parents were away at a wedding. As they returned home, Scarlett got out of her stroller to pick flowers when a speeding Chevy Tahoe struck all three.<\/p>\n
\u201cScarlett was killed almost instantly,\u201d said her mother, Samantha Jensen. Her mother and Henry were critically injured. The driver fled but was later arrested and is now serving a 10-year sentence.<\/p>\n
Henry suffered multiple severe injuries, including a fractured spine, and spent a week in intensive care. The grandmother had several broken bones but was eventually released from the hospital.<\/p>\n
Weeks later, Samantha found her mother\u2019s phone and discovered a photo of Scarlett taken just five minutes before her death. \u201cIt captures the peaceful feeling of her last moments,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m so thankful to have that photo\u2014it\u2019s how I\u2019ll always remember her.\u201d<\/p>\n
