Actress Daveigh Chase, best known for her roles in The Ring<\/em> and Lilo & Stitch<\/em>, has reportedly died at 35.<\/p>\n

According to TMZ, Chase died on June 16 from meningitis and a blood infection, her boyfriend Roy Hernandez said. She had reportedly been hospitalized in Los Angeles earlier this month due to malnutrition. Hernandez also launched a GoFundMe campaign, saying Chase had endured a difficult childhood, become estranged from her family and was in critical condition after being diagnosed with meningitis and multiple blood infections.<\/p>\n

Chase began acting at age 8 and rose to fame with Donnie Darko<\/em>, later voicing Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch<\/em> and Chihiro in the English version of Spirited Away<\/em>. She became a horror icon as Samara in The Ring<\/em>, earning an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.<\/p>\n

She also appeared in ER<\/em>, The Practice<\/em>, Touched by an Angel<\/em>, CSI<\/em>, and HBO’s Big Love<\/em>. Her final film was American Romance<\/em> (2016), and she had largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years.<\/p>\n
