Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell, 63, has revealed that his cancer has returned more than a year after undergoing a donor transplant for Hodgkin lymphoma.<\/p>\n
During an August 12 radio interview, Campbell said the transplant did not have the lasting result doctors hoped for.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, it didn\u2019t stick,\u201d he said. \u201cSo the cancer has returned, and I\u2019m continuing treatments to manage it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Campbell was first diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2013. Despite more than a decade of treatment, he has continued performing and making music.<\/p>\n
The guitarist said his career gives him a reason to keep going and that he is determined not to let cancer control his life.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m certainly not slowing down,\u201d Campbell said.<\/p>\n
Campbell joined Def Leppard in 1992 after the death of guitarist Steve Clark and has remained with the band for more than three decades. He was also previously a member of Dio and Whitesnake.<\/p>\n
Despite the latest setback, Campbell continues treatment and remains focused on music and living life to the fullest.<\/p>\n
