David Clayton-Thomas, the legendary voice of Blood, Sweat & Tears, has died at 84.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The singer reportedly died peacefully in a Toronto hospital. No cause of death has been announced.<\/p>\n

Clayton-Thomas became one of the defining voices of late-1960s and 1970s rock, helping turn Blood, Sweat & Tears into a global sensation by blending rock, jazz, R&B, and brass-driven sounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote and sang the iconic hit \u201cSpinning Wheel,\u201d<\/strong> which reached No. 2 in the U.S. Other major songs included \u201cAnd When I Die\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cYou\u2019ve Made Me So Very Happy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

His journey to fame was extraordinary. After moving to Canada as a child, he experienced homelessness by age 14 and spent part of his youth in trouble with the law.<\/p>\n

Music eventually changed his life.<\/p>\n

His first album with Blood, Sweat & Tears sold millions worldwide, spent 109 weeks on the U.S. charts<\/strong>, and won five Grammy Awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clayton-Thomas later enjoyed a successful solo career and continued performing for decades while supporting at-risk youth.<\/p>\n
