Former Vice President\u00a0Kamala Harris<\/a>\u00a0made her first major speech since she left office. She shared what she thought of the\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0administration, and her thoughts have caused a lot of opinions to pop up online.<\/p>\n

On stage for the Emerge 20th Anniversary Gala, in her speech she used the example of the current political climate to demonstrate how it is a crucial turning point in American history.<\/p>\n

She praised everyday American citizens,\u00a0saying<\/u><\/a>\u00a0how she admired their resilience against\u00a0a \u201cman-made economic crisis\u201d brought on by \u201creckless tariffs\u201d and a disregard for court orders.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all know President Trump and his administration, and their allies are counting on the notion that fear can be contagious,\u201d she\u00a0said in her speech<\/u><\/a>. She spoke so her voice was audible above the applause. She said, \u201cBut what they have overlooked is that fear is not the only thing that\u2019s contagious. Courage is contagious.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe courage of Americans [\u2026] across the political spectrum, who are declaring that the president\u2019s reckless tariffs hurt workers and families by raising the cost of everyday essentials, devastate the retirement accounts [\u2026] and paralyze American businesses [\u2026] forcing them to lay off people, to stop hiring or pause investment decisions,\u201d she\u00a0went on<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

She went on to challenge the narrative being spun that America is heading towards disorder. She plead with people, saying, \u201cPlease, let us not be duped into thinking everything is chaos.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we are in fact witnessing is a high velocity event where a vessel is being used for the swift implementation of an agenda that has been decades in the making,\u201d Harris\u00a0said in her speech<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

She went on to say, \u201cWe are living in a moment when the checks and balances, upon which we have historically relied, have begun to buckle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe here know that when the checks and balances ultimately collapse [\u2026] that is called a constitutional crisis, and that is a crisis that will eventually impact everyone,\u201d\u00a0the former VP said.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n

In her speech, she clearly said she hopes people will uphold democracy.<\/p>\n

\u201cLock it in! Gear up for the hard work ahead, and please, always remember this country is ours. It doesn\u2019t belong to whoever is in the White House, it belongs to you! It belongs to We, the People!\u201d Harris\u00a0emphasized in her speech\u00a0<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The speech quickly began making rounds on social media as people began to focus on what Harris was saying.<\/p>\n

One person\u00a0commented<\/u><\/a>,\u00a0\u201c<\/em>Thanks for spreading some LOVE for\u00a0America<\/a>\u00a0and the American people. Courage is contagious and LOVE for one another is contagious, too.\u201d While another added, \u201cOutstanding! Full of courage and Truth!\u201d<\/p>\n

While another person\u00a0wrote<\/a>, \u201cSeeing her talk nonsense in circles again, I\u2019m reminded how glad I am to be unburdened by what has been.\u201d Another detractor added, \u201cI\u2019m a Democrat and I don\u2019t wish to see or hear this woman ever again.
