Since my mother, Marta, died three years ago, the garden had given Dad a reason to keep going. Our family had worked that land for generations, long before our new neighbor, Brent Hollis, moved into his expensive house overlooking the property.<\/p>\n
Brent complained about the tall corn and eventually filed an official complaint, accusing Dad of secretly selling vegetables.<\/p>\n
When county inspector Tyler Ostrowski arrived, he admitted the garden was beautifully maintained. However, zoning regulations required Dad to reduce its size or obtain a special permit that could take six months.<\/p>\n
