He trained at the Actors Studio in New York, inspired by legends like Robert Mitchum and Spencer Tracy.<\/p>\n His breakout came in 1973 with Walking Tall<\/em>, where his gritty performance turned the film into a surprise hit. He later claimed the movie even sparked political protests abroad.<\/p>\n Baker\u2019s career spanned 57 films, from Charley Varrick<\/em> and Mitchell<\/em> to Cape Fear<\/em>, Mars Attacks!<\/em>, and Reality Bites<\/em>.
