His stepson, food writer Tom Parker Bowles, described the royal diet as full of \u201cgame, beef, lamb, peas, strawberries, raspberries, and chard,\u201d with no waste at the King\u2019s table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1180\">The monarch, who was diagnosed with cancer in February 2024 after a procedure for an enlarged prostate, returned to public duties in April after a three-month break. Although not prostate cancer, doctors discovered the illness during his hospital stay.
