Ask any parent, and they\u2019ll likely say there\u2019s nothing they wouldn\u2019t do for their child.<\/p>\n
From the moment we become parents, our lives revolve around loving, protecting, and caring for our children. Sadly, there are things no parent can prevent\u2014like illness. Each year, countless children face battles they never should.<\/p>\n
Alina and Aaron Edwards\u2019 world was shattered when their 9-year-old daughter, Emma, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Despite their hope, doctors eventually told them there was nothing more they could do. Emma\u2019s parents then focused on making her remaining time as joyful as possible.<\/p>\n
Emma had a unique final wish\u2014not to meet a celebrity or go to Disneyland, but to marry her 10-year-old boyfriend, DJ. Their love story had started in third grade, and with the help of their community, Make-A-Wish, and many volunteers dubbed \u201cEmma\u2019s Army,\u201d her dream became reality.<\/p>\n
In just two days, everything was donated to create a special wedding. On June 29, Emma arrived in a wheelchair, glowing in a purple dress, as she was wheeled down the aisle. The young couple exchanged vows and rings, and DJ sweetly kissed his bride.<\/p>\n
Emma passed away on July 11, 2023. Her obituary described her as a vibrant, funny, and loving soul\u2014a \u201clittle unicorn\u201d who brought joy to everyone she met. She is remembered for her strength, love, and light.<\/p>\n
Rest in peace, Emma. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.<\/p>\n
