When only the host family\u2019s dog came back, concerns grew.<\/p>\n Both women had saved for months to make this trip\u2014Lisanne\u2019s graduation gift. They arrived in Panama mid-March, planning to learn Spanish and volunteer with children.<\/p>\n A day after their disappearance, a search began but found nothing. Two months later, a local woman discovered Lisanne\u2019s backpack, containing their phones, a camera, and personal items.<\/p>\n The phones showed 77 attempts to call emergency services, with one call briefly connecting.
