Normally, these pores allow oil (sebum) to reach the skin\u2019s surface and keep it moisturized. But when excess oil mixes with dead skin cells, it can clog the pores.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-3\"><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"588\">Once a pore is clogged, it creates the perfect environment for bacteria, especially\u00a0<em data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"455\">Cutibacterium acnes<\/em>, to grow. These bacteria cause the skin to become red, swollen, and sometimes filled with pus\u2014this is what we recognize as a pimple.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"590\" data-end=\"876\">Hormonal changes, especially during puberty, menstruation, or stress, can trigger the body to produce more oil. That\u2019s why teenagers and even adults under stress are more prone to breakouts. Some skincare products, poor hygiene, or touching the face often can also worsen the condition.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\"><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"1131\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Pimples can appear on the face, back, chest, and shoulders\u2014anywhere there are active oil glands.
