Though Kotb emphasized her exit wasn\u2019t solely due to Hope\u2019s condition, she told <em data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"744\">People<\/em> and <em data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"760\">TODAY.com<\/em> that being present for her kids, especially during health challenges, became essential.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"1028\">Kotb officially left the show in January after announcing her decision in September.
