On closer inspection, they weren\u2019t bug bites \u2014 they were holes. Jackson had been shot.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"359\" data-end=\"598\">Veterinarians found BBs and pellets all over his body \u2014 under his eyelid, in his ear, knee, and more. They removed 27 and found 20 more they couldn\u2019t remove, plus 20 additional impact marks. In total, Jackson had been shot nearly 70 times.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"767\">Police traced the shots to a neighbor\u2019s yard, where they found a BB gun and arrested Tom Woodward, who had prior drug charges.
