In the busy streets of Mettupalayam, India, rescuers were stopped in their tracks by a heartbreaking sight \u2014 a stray dog with a massive, swollen growth on his head, wandering alone.<\/p>\n

This dog, later named Biggie, had a spirit just as big as his burden. Stray dogs are common in India, but Biggie\u2019s condition was impossible to ignore. His head hung low under the weight of a 2kg tumor, and his energy was fading fast.<\/p>\n

That changed when a team from the UK-based Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS)<\/strong> found him. Despite his suffering, Biggie wagged his tail and leaned into their care. Tests revealed the tumor hadn\u2019t reached his skull \u2014 giving him a fighting chance.<\/p>\n

Two days later, Biggie underwent a complex surgery to remove the tumor, which made up over 10% of his body weight. Left untreated, it would have killed him.<\/p>\n

Even in recovery, Biggie remained affectionate and strong. \u201cHe\u2019s the most loving dog I\u2019ve ever met,\u201d said Dr. Shreya Bahl of WVS. After multiple surgeries and ongoing care, Biggie began to thrive.<\/p>\n

Now recovering at WVS\u2019s center in Ooty, Biggie is gaining strength, playing, and \u2014 for the first time in a long while \u2014 lifting his head proudly. Once a symbol of suffering, he\u2019s become a beacon of resilience and compassion.<\/p>\n
