Quietly, the couple sent each of the 27 affected families a silver locket engraved with the girl\u2019s initials and the words:

“As parents, our hearts break with yours… Your daughter\u2019s name is etched into our hearts \u2014 and into the heart of a nation.”<\/em><\/p>\n
A close friend said Keith told Nicole, \u201cIf it were one of ours… I don\u2019t know how we\u2019d go on.\u201d The lockets were their way of honoring that pain.<\/p>\n
The tragedy left devastation \u2014 but also inspired love and support from across the country. The concert is expected to raise millions.
