Jaxon had just returned from a short family trip to Blackpool with his parents, Sammy and Jordan, when he began feeling unwell. Complaining of pain and a fever, he was given paracetamol and went to sleep. But by early morning, his condition had rapidly worsened.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe had a rash, his mouth and tongue were swelling, and he could barely breathe,\u201d Sammy said. \u201cBy the time we got to the hospital, doctors were doing everything they could.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite hours of treatment, Jaxon\u2019s heart stopped, and he passed away on February 17. The cause: meningococcal disease, a fast-acting and deadly form of bacterial meningitis.<\/p>\n
Jaxon was his parents\u2019 \u201cmiracle baby\u201d after years of IVF and miscarriages. Now, they are sharing his story to raise awareness.<\/p>\n
